The Trip

To say I feel lucky to have been chosen by Kristen and Gary to photograph their wedding would be an understatement. I am so thankful that they chose to fly me out with them for such a special day. This was my first time in Colorado and oh my, it was GORGEOUS! From the flat land the stretched as far as the eye could see, to the mountains that popped up at the end covered with snow, it was absolutely beautiful. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to experience these views for their wedding.

The Colorado Wedding

Kristen and Gary were married in their favorite state, Colorado, at Willow Ridge Manor. Their venue had a touch of red rocks with a gorgeous view of the mountains behind. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for their wedding. The weather was warmer than expected, and it felt great. Due to the warm weather we were warned to keep an eye out for rattlesnakes which is something I have never had to do during a wedding before.

Kristen and Gary had 40 (yes 40!) of their family members and closest friends fly out for their big day. How special that they have so many people who made that trip for them! They were married by Kristen’s dad, with the mountain skyline on every side of them. They said their vows to each other, and Gary had written vow’s to Olivia, Kristen’s daughter. He placed a necklace on her just as he placed a ring on Kristen’s finger, it was such a sweet moment. The three of them recessed back down the aisle together wearing the biggest smiles you have ever seen. They are truly one HAPPY FAMILY! Congrats Kristen and Gary! I can’t wait to photograph your Maryland Reception.

Reception Round Two!

Today Kristen and Gary are able to relive their amazing wedding in Colorado on the blog! But, after doing so…they will party hard with all of their friends and family in Maryland during their home reception.  It isn’t often that couples are able to re-do the awesome moments of their wedding in a different state with even more people than the first time! I can’t wait to see the two of you tonight!
