The Couple
MK and Kevin are just SO in love. Yes, of course every couple is in love when they are getting married…but their love is an overflowing, infectious love that you can’t help but love yourself. They met at 15 years old when MK attended her friend’s family party…they were always interested in each other, but the sparks didn’t really fly until she attended their family vacation in 2015. On this trip they chatted about their interests… Joss Whedon, Donnie Darko, etc. It was then that she learned Kevin was into ballroom dancing. When she asked him to teach her a few steps, he did more than just that; He gazed into her eyes, and swept her heart right out of her chest. The rest is history!
The Proposal
If you thought their falling in love story was romantic – just wait until you hear about their proposal. These two really know how to pull on your heartstrings and are living a love straight out of a romantic movie! Kevin, knowing MaryKate so well, planned the perfect proposal. MaryKate is an earth and space science geek (her words, not mine!), and has always wanted to take flight in a helicopter. Kevin bought her a ring with a band made out of genuine meteorite (scroll through the photos to catch a glimpse of this unique ring), took her in a helicopter over the Inner Harbor, and told her “I want to give you all of the earth and the sky”. I know, the romance is melting your heart, right?
The Wedding
Yup, you guessed it….they topped all of that with a unique wedding that fit them perfectly! They were married at 1840’s Plaza Ballroom, which couldn’t have been a more suitable choice considering they are now both ballroom dancers!(And they teach it to! I have already planned to book her for when I am married…lord only knows Richie and I need some dance lessons! lol) They decided to throw the idea of the traditional bridal party out the window and instead had their true favorites standing by their sides for the ceremony. Her Man of Honor, his Best Woman, and their bridal party were full of smiles and happy tears as MaryKate’s mother married them. They vowed to always love and support each other, share cute dog videos with each other, give Holly (MK’s dog) all the love in the world – this is very important, and even quoted some Buffy the Vampire! They wowed everyone with their truly amazing (and super impressive) first dance, served breakfast for dinner – my favorite, and laughed endlessly. Congratulations MK & Kevin! Thank you so much for having me, I loved every minute of capturing your day.
