The Couple:
Lindsay and Steve are simply amazing…. as people, as a couple, and everything in between. They met at a benefit concert at which they were both singing — romantic, right?! They both knew that they had found “the one” on their first date, and every day after has confirmed their destiny more and more. The musical romance didn’t stop at their first encounter; when I asked their favorite thing to do as a couple, their response was “to make music together”, which I find absolutely adorable. Coming from someone who has no musical talents, I have always found it to be a bit whimsical and inspiring to watch a musical artist at work. I can only imagine it would be even more passionate when you put love in the mix. With the help of Lindsay’s friends, Steve planned a photoshoot for the two of them. For the session, he took her back to where they shared their first kiss (a bridge in downtown Frederick) and asked her to be his wife. And personally, I don’t think he could have chosen a more perfect way.
The Photography:
When I first met the two of them a few months back and they told me they were getting married at a distillery, I knew right then and there they had to be my clients. A distillery is such a fun an unique place to get married! I knew already that we had some interests in common and that we would click right away. As we talked more about unique details of their big day, I verified my intuition — this couple is awesome and will be a blast to work with!
The Session:
Do you remember the first date I mentioned earlier, the one where they knew they had found “the one”? Well, for their engagement session we went back to visit that very spot, Larriland Farm. If you have never had the chance to go to Larriland, I highly recommend it. It is a gorgeous farm filled with as many different crops as you can imagine. We explored the cherry, and strawberry fields, but decided to skip the spinach that was also open. I had never been in a strawberry field before, but let me tell you…it smelled AMAZING. Amazing enough to pick a box full to take home (and to use for a few ring shots of course).
These two made my job so easy. I didn’t have to spend any time posing them because they let their love for each other do the work. I couldn’t get enough of the laughter that was flowing out of Lindsay when she was wrapped up in Steve’s arms. There wasn’t a single moment that she didn’t have a smile on her face. The love they share is contagious and you could see how much he adored her just by the look in his eyes. I found myself caught up in capturing their love so much so that I was forgetting to tell them they could take a breath mid-kiss.
I could have photographed them all day, but I will have to wait for their wedding for that. Until then, enjoy their engagement session!
