The Couple
Per Haley:
“Matt and I met each other on a dating app called, Tinder. I reached out to him to get to know him first. He didn’t remember swiping right on me, and I was convinced he wasn’t a real person. After a significant amount of Facebook searching, I’d learned that he was, in fact, who he said he was. We decided to go on our first date at an Irish bar in Westminster, called O’Lordans. Before I walked in, Matt texted me to say he would be standing outside with a sign in his hands with my name on it, like people do when they arrive at an airport. He also contemplated telling me that he was sitting in the corner of the bar with a camo hat on (which is actually where a very old man with a camo hat was sitting). I learned early on that Matt had a sense of humor. We sat down and talked for HOURS about The Walking Dead and Harry Potter. We talked about our family life and our similarities with that and how it was so strange we had grown up so close to each other but never met. We spent FOUR hours getting to know each other on our first date. It was magical. From there we spent six months getting to know each other, before attending a wedding together on June 25th when I told him, I was going to start calling him *dun dun dunnnnn* my boyfriend. We danced the night away, he spun me around in circles, and we discovered what we would forever label, “our song”. From there we spent a lot of time discovering new places together, trying new foods, experiencing new adventures and introducing each other to some of the most important people in our lives. Almost three years later from our very first date, Matt proposed, under one of the most romantic and thoughtful circumstances I could’ve ever imagined. And here we are!”
The Wedding
Haley & Matt were married on a gorgeous fall day in September at Ceresville Mansion in Frederick, Maryland. As mentioned above, Matt has quite the sense of humor. But of course, that means Haley does as well as many of their friends and family. To state that Matt and Haley’s wedding was fun would be a total understatement. There was not a dull moment in the day – and I am quite certain I laughed more during their wedding than I have at any wedding before. Listing all of these wonderful moments would create a blog post much longer than you’d probably like to read – so I will let the photos do the talking. Just a few of the the awesome things to view below are: Haley’s emerald ring(which she matched her converse to), Matt’s poses for his ‘getting ready’ photos, Haley’s balancing act as her mother and sister-in-law swept her off her feet putting on her shoes, their first dance complete with finger gun karaoke, the awesome mother-son dance which looked something like a very fast polka, hi-jacked night photos, the attack of the groom, and of course the wild dance party! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Pennington!!
