The Couple
Morgan and Jay first met when they were young kids growing up in the same neighborhood. Jay’s dad used to buy lemonade from Morgan’s stand when they were younger, little did he know he was supporting his future daughter-in-law. As life passed by, their paths crossed again at an later age and they began dating. Jason popped the question in the same vines they said their “I do’s” in, what a special place Black Ankle Vineyard is to them.
The Wedding
We all had been watching the weather constantly in hopes that the chance for rain would disappear as the wedding day neared, but even at 3 hours prior to the ceremony the weather was reading 80% chance of rain all night. But then, a miracle happened… as we inched closer to the ceremony time the clouds parted and the rain chance completely disappeared. I truly believe Jay’s brother in heaven had something to do with that amazing miracle. They also executed the bury the bourbon tradition for good luck, which turned out to work in their favor.
Married in front of the vines, the ceremony was full of happy tears and scary similar vows(they were practically the same!) On their way back down the aisle Morgan and Jay stopped to share another kiss where he dipped her, and then picked her up and carried her off. It was so sweet!
As guests began to eat, rain sprinkled down just enough to cool off the weather, and leave us with a BEAUTIFUL double rainbow!! We quite literally ran to the field to grab photos – how fun!
As dinner finished up, they enjoyed speeches from Morgan’s brother, and best friends… followed by Jay’s dad who spoke as if Jay’s brother were there giving the speech joined by Jay’s nephews who stood as the best men – needless to say, there was not a dry eye during this special moment. Andy opened up the dance floor, and everyone danced the night away under the bistro lights until midnight, when they sent the couple off with sparklers into their beautiful future.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Layer!!!
